Aksana is an internationally trained belly dance instructor and accomplished performer, who performs regularly and teaches locally as well.  Her style is a very unique blend of the best aspects of belly dance and athleticism.

  As an instructor, Aksana specializes in challenging workouts. She incorporates precise technique and sexy upbeat choreographies to Modern Eastern and Arabic Pop music.   Aksana has been teaching and performing belly dance over 5 years and has a very strong following of students.

  Aksana grew up in Minsk, Belarus and from the young age of 5 was involved in such athletic endeavors as diving, gymnastics and trampoline. Aksana received over 13 gold medals and acquired professional status for her diving abilities and was later honored as best diver in country Belarus within her age group.

  Eventually Aksana’s interests shifted towards more artistic physical expression – dance. She performed in modern dance companies before finding her passion …belly dance.  She has even been in some local T.V. ads that required a dynamic Bellydancer in their production.

  In Belarus, Aksana first studied with Belarussian sensation Farangiz, who’s accomplishments include:  Director of Middle Eastern School “Farangiz” in Belarus, Judge of International Dance Organization in Oriental/Belly Dance Category, Director of Championships in Belarus and Organizer of European Championship in Belly Dance, and Producer of Oriental Fashion Party 2006.

  After Aksana’s immigration in the USA, she studied with the legendary dancer Mish-Mish of the original Bal Anat  under direction of Jamila Shalimpour, who was the first to bring the tribal performance style to the American Public in the late 1960's and 1970's.

  In the USA, Aksana continues her study in this art form by attending and hosting workshops and seminars.   In November 2007, she hosted a workshop: ”Earthquakes and Hipshakes”, showcasing guest artist dancer Isidora Buskovski .
